TOR ARNE KVIA RETURNS WITH A BANG IN FERROPOLIS

As the dust settled on the penultimate qualifying session of the season here at the “City of Iron” in Ferropolis, Germany, it was Norwegian driver Tor Arne Kvia who topped what was the highest scoring Qualifying session we have ever witnessed in Drift Masters.

   Out of a fiercely competitive grid of 51 drivers, it was the Norwegian, Kvia, diving in as a wildcard from last night’s Iron Drift King wildcard qualifying event, who took top spot and set himself up nicely for tomorrow’s Top 32 Battles. On his return to Drift Masters, Kvia clinched the top spot with an incredible 98-point run on his second run after a 94-point run on his first.

Hot on his heels was Lithuanian driver Benediktas Cirba, who also scored a 98-point run as his highest and a 94 as the lower of his two, taking second spot in Qualifying after the rule book’s tied score calculations took effect. After a Top 8 finish overall here last season, Cirba will now definitely have his sights set on a first place finish in Germany this weekend.

And taking the last of our Top 3 qualifying positions was none other than Finnish fan-favourite, Lauri Heinonen. The Finn would, surprise surprise, also score a 98-point run on his first, but would zero out on his second in an incredibly aggressive attempt to go 2 better and get a perfect qualifying score of 100.

So after today’s insane qualifying session, and with the battles it has lined up for us, tomorrow promises to deliver one of the most nail-biting battle days we have ever witnessed in Drift Masters European Championship history, with 5 of our 6 main championship fight contenders all sitting on one side of the bracket. However, make sure you don’t forget that the culmination of the entire 2023 Drift Masters season is up next. The sixth and final round of the year goes down on September 15th & 16th at Poland’s PGE Narodowy, and is already confirmed to go down in history as the most significant and impressive drift event the world has ever witnessed. 

  The event is already completely sold out for September 16th’s main event, meaning a whopping 53,000 Drift Masters fans will be packed inside Poland’s biggest stadium, meaning the energy will really be like no other drift event ever witnessed anywhere else in the World.
