After an incredible 5 rounds so far this season, the 2023 Drift Masters European Championship comes to a close under the lights at the incredible setting that is the near-60,000 seater PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland this weekend, and on day one it’s Finnish man and reigning WRC champion, Kalle Rovanpera heading away happiest having topped the final Qualifying event of the season.

Having already wowed the crowds on his first run with a 93-point score, Kalle came out all guns blazing to throw down a near-perfect 99-pointer on his second time of trying, to take top spot on day one of a 2-day spectacle that is set to break the World record as the biggest drift event ever witnessed.

Taking the second spot in today’s Qualifying session, with his best-ever Drift Masters Qualifying score, was Hungarian driver Kevin Piskolty. After laying down an incredible 94-point run on his first attempt, Kevin came out and threw caution to the wind for his second run to score 98 points , wowing the crowds watching on both online and in-person.

And much to the delight of his travelling Finnish fans, second place championship contender Lauri Heinonen would be the one taking the third and final spot in our Top 3 Qualifiers at the Grand Finale, with an incredible 96 point run, meaning he is the championship contender taking the most points home at the end of today’s Qualifying session.

So that’s it from the PGE Narodowy on day one, where all 6 of our championship contenders now progress to tomorrow’s battle action to see who will be crowned champion. Conor Shanahan still sits in top spot, but with a stacked battle bracket lined up for tomorrow, it really is safe to say anything could happen.

Tune in live tomorrow from 3.15pm local Polish time on Red Bull TV so you don’t miss out on a second of the action, but before then, make sure you check out today’s Qualifying results and tomorrow’s Top 32 battle bracket down below to get a glimpse of what you can expect.
